UFC odds: Ronda Rousey opens as -825 favorite over Cat Zingano

I think most mixed martial arts (MMA) fans expected Ronda Rousey to be a big favorite over Cat Zingano for their UFC women's bantamweight title fight later this year, but how do you feel now that the actual line has been released? Too high, too low or just right?

Jeff Gross

Undefeated female fighting phenom Cat Zingano beat the cupcakes out of Miesha Tate at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 17 Finale earlier this month in Las Vegas, Nevada, finishing off the former women's champion by way of technical knockout (watch it again here).

The bookies were not impressed.

Probably because "Alpha" will move on to fight 135-pound terminatrix and reigning division queenpin Ronda Rousey, who has made a career out of turning arms into pretzels. In fact, she's won all seven of her professional mixed martial arts (MMA) fights -- as well as all three amateur contests -- by way of first round armbar.

Even if you combined all seven of her wins, it still wouldn't be enough to fill an entire three-round fight.

It should come as no surprise then, to learn that "Rowdy" opened as the -825 favorite for her future bantamweight fight against Zingano. The challenger, also undefeated at 7-0, still opened as a +475 underdog, according to our fiscal friends at Best Fight Odds.

Before they can get busy inside the Octagon (see their first staredown pic here), they will first have to face off as opposing coaches on the upcoming season of TUF 18, which is scheduled to debut on the new FOX Sports 1 network on Sept. 4, 2013 (see the poster here).

And then?

Then Zingano tries to do what no other female combatant has done to date and that's defeat Rousey. Heck, just being the first fighter to make it into the second stanza would have to be considered a moral victory.

With that in mind, who's slicing up some cheddar for this future fight?
