UFC Quick Quote: Matt Brown’s time for a title shot is coming, and when it does he’ll be ready

With five-straight UFC wins under his belt, including a TKO of Jordan Mein at UFC on FOX 7, Matt Brown believes his opportunity to fight for the title is coming and when it does arrive, he will be ready to make the best of it.

USA TODAY Sports

"Just because a bunch of media people do not believe I'm good enough for a title shot doesn't mean that it's true. I train very hard every day, and I train with some of the best people in the world in all the different martial arts, and I believe that my time is coming. I believe things are coming my way more and more now, and I'm going to be ready for a title shot in the future."

-- Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight contender Matt Brown discusses his goals of one day fighting for a UFC championship at the UFC on FOX 7 post-fight press conference (watch it here) Saturday night (April 20, 2013) in San Jose, California. "The Immortal" defeated Jordan Mein by second-round technical knockout at the event to push his current career-high win-streak to five in a row and his stock as a mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter has never been higher. Brown believes some fans and media members don't have faith in him as one of the world's elite 170-pound fighters, but with each performance and each win the 32-year-old is proving his naysayers wrong and is confident his title shot will one day arrive.
