The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will return to network television for the seventh time with another free world championship fight as reigning lightweight titleholder Benson Henderson welcomes Gilbert Melendez, the final 155-pound champion of the now-defunct Strikeforce organization, to the Octagon.
When and where?
In the UFC on FOX 7: "Henderson vs. Melendez" main event, which tops off a loaded free fight card from the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif., on April 20, 2013.
That's not all the event has to offer, though.
In the co-main event, former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir will attempt to rebound from a knockout loss to Junior dos Santos at UFC 146 when he takes on highly touted Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix champion Daniel Cormier in Cormier's highly anticipated UFC debut.
After the recent The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale event last Saturday (April 13, 2013) in Las Vegas, Nevada, UFC color-commentator Jon Anik and play-by-play man Kenny Florian broke down the lightweight championship contest that is set to serve as the main event from the HP Pavilion in San Jose.
