Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently broadcasted its "Road to the Octagon" special for its UFC on FOX 7: "Henderson vs. Melendez" event, which goes down at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif., this Saturday night (April 20, 2013) at 8 p.m. ET.
UFC on FOX 7 is headlined by a lightweight championship bout as reigning titleholder Benson Henderson puts his title on the line for the third time against the final 155-pound champion in the history of the now-defunct Strikeforce organization, Gilbert Melendez.
Along with the lightweight title headliner, Former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir will welcome Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix winner Daniel Cormier to the Octagon in the co-main event.
But there's more.
After nine years away from the organization, former Strikeforce champion Josh Thomson will make his triumphant return to the UFC when he takes on former title challenger Nate Diaz in a main card bout.
