UFC Quick Quote: Travis Browne ready to move up and face top-10 competition after TUF 17 Finale win

Following his first-round knockout of Gabriel Gonzaga at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 17 Finale, Travis Browne believes he is ready to mix it up with fighters at the top of the UFC's heavyweight ranks.

USA TODAY Sports

"I think I'm starting to get some of the recognition that I may not have gotten before, and I think it's due. I think I've put in some of my time -- what's this like my sixth or seventh fight in the UFC? And I'm coming off of one loss in my career and, yeah, I think it's time for me to start moving up and get those shots like [Antonio] Silva and some of the guys in the top-10. If that doesn't put me in the top-10 I'm sure I'll be there shortly."

-- Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight contender Travis Browne is ready to take a step up to the next level of competition on the heels of a brutal first-round knockout victory against Gabriel Gonzaga (watch it here) at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale Saturday night (April 13, 2013) at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. "Hapa" came up short in his most recent attempt against a top-10 opponent, suffering his first and only mixed martial arts (MMA) defeat to current No. 1 contender Antonio Silva in Oct. 2012. Browne displayed his determination by coming back from the defeat to "Bigfoot" and at 30 years of age believes now is the time to make a run towards the title.
