Miesha Tate vs. Cat Zingano full fight results TUF 17 Finale, Round 2

The second ever women's fight to take place inside the Octagon under the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) banner pitted the popular Miesha Tate against the unheralded and largely unknown, but still incredibly dangerous, Cat Zingano at tonight's (Sat., April 13, 2013) The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 17 Finale in Las Vegas, Nevada. The winner was promised a coaching slot on TUF 18 opposite division champion Ronda Rousey.

The action was hot and heavy in round one and it continued into round two with Zingano opening things up with a flying knee that led to a clinch and a takedown. Tate managed to lock in an armbar during a scramble but Cat defended perfectly and got herself out of trouble.

For about two seconds.

Miesha advanced position to full mount before taking her opponent's back. This led to an another submission attempt, this one a kneebar and then an ankle lock. Zingano countered and landed some hard punches and short elbows after getting top position once her leg was free.

They battled back to their feet and swung for the fences before the horn signaled for one more.

Whew.
