The Ultimate Fighting Championship's (UFC) wraps up its seventh season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) tomorrow night (April 13, 2013) with The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale," which airs live and free on FX in the United States and Rogers Sportsnet in Canada.
The event is headlined by a bantamweight contest between former World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) champion Urijah Faber and 135-pound mainstay Scott Jorgensen.
Faber (27-6) is coming off a quick and decisive submission victory over Ivan Menjivar at UFC 157: "Rousey vs. Carmouche," and will enter the cage for the second time in just 49-days when he takes on Jorgensen.
"The California Kid" has not racked up back-to-back victories in over two years, and after his first-round finish of Menjivar will be looking to build some momentum in hopes of earning another bantamweight title shot.
Jorgensen (14-6) will be looking to score the biggest victory of his career when he takes on Faber in his first-ever UFC main event. "Young Guns" has only lost to Dominick Cruz, Renan Barao and Eddie Wineland in the past four years, but has never been able to capture that signature win that moves him in to top contenders status.
The 30-year-old is also coming off a first-round submission victory, as he defeated John Albert at UFC on FOX 5 last December.
After the recent UFC on FUEL TV 9 event last weekend (April 6, 2013) in Stockholm, Sweden, UFC play-by-play man Kenny Florian and color commentator Mike Goldberg broke down the bantamweight contest that is set to serve as the main event from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
