In a recent interview with Cor MMA, Road FC CEO Moon Jung Hong revealed that he is close to booking a fight between Melvin Manhoef vs. Mirko Filipovic for Road FC 12.
"I do not want to reveal too much, but the next card will eclipse the Road FC 11 card. We are very close to getting Melvin Manhoef vs Mirko Cro Cop done for the next event," he is quoted as saying.
Filipovic's last appearance was on New Year's Eve when he submitted Shinichi Suzukawa with an armbar while Manhoef was most recently seen losing a decision to Brock Larson at ONE FC: "Kings & Champions" in Singapore.
Manhoef is currently contracted to ONE FC, but Road FC's relationship with the Singapore-based organization through the ONE FC Network has already allowed Moon to use the Dutchman on a previous card, when he outpointed Jae Young Kim at Road FC 9.
Road FC 12 will also see former Legend FC Welterweight Champion Bae Myung Ho fight in Korea for the first time since 2008. He had been in a dispute with the Hong Kong based promotion over its refusal to allow him to join the UFC, but it appears a compromise has now been reached.
According to the Cor MMA interview, the Road FC 12 card -- which had no set date at present -- will also see Korean boxer Ji Hoon Kim make his professional MMA debut. He is a former national champion, PABA champion and IBF champion who currently competes at 130 pounds.
