Ronda Rousey prefers to coach against Miesha Tate on TUF 18, rooting for her to beat Cat Zingano

Ronda Rousey rooting for Miesha Tate to beat Cat Zingano this weekend (April 13, 2013) at The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale? What's this world coming to?

Esther Lin for Strikeforce

Huh?

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate aren't exactly the best of friends, but "Rowdy" is rooting for "Cupcake" to defeat Cat Zingano this weekend (April 13, 2013) at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 17 Finale, which goes down from The Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

They've shown disdain towards one another since their time spent competing under the now-defunct Strikeforce banner. In the lead-up to last year's 135-pound title fight, they exchanged verbal jabs and it all came to a head (literally) when "Rowdy" and "Cupcake" went nose-to-nose during their pre-fight weigh in.

Rousey eventually submitted Tate in the very first round via (you guessed it) armbar.

So, you wouldn't think the former Olympian would be rooting for her rival to pull off a victory in "Sin City," right?

The answer she gave "UFC Tonight" when asked to give her prediction for this Saturday night's women's bantamweight showdown may surprise you.

"I have no clue. To be honest, both of them are amazing fighters. I think I'd prefer to coach against Miesha, so I'm rooting for her, but to have two undefeated fighters fight for a title, which it would be against Cat, would be an amazing experience as well. I'm the champ, I'm here to fight the best, so may the best girl win, and I'll be here waiting for you."

"Rowdy" defended her UFC bantamweight strap for the very first time against Liz Carmouche last February at UFC 157, adding "Girl-rilla" to her list of first-round armbar victims.

The winner between "Cupcake" and "Alpha" this weekend will earn a coaching slot opposite Ronda on season 18 of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) -- which may or may not have plenty of girl-on-girl hookups -- and will then attempt to dethrone "Rowdy" as the queen of the 135-pound weight class.

Can Tate earn her much-desired rematch against her bitter rival? Or will Zingano pull of the upset and make a name for herself in the process?
