It's incredible to think that Uriah Hall got such a late start in the sport of mixed martial arts (MMA), and that most of his experience came from practicing "Tekken" moves in the kitchen after playing his favorite video game.
Find out which character he emulated right here.
Those same moves helped Hall become perhaps the most feared striker in the history of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF). On season 17, the former Ring of Combat (ROC) star knocked out all three of his opponents in violent fashion, starting with his spinning wheel kick over Adam Cella (re-watch it here).
Bubba McDaniel didn't fare much better, succumbing to a perfectly-timed right hand in less than 10 seconds (see it again here). Not even the venerable Dylan Andrews could make it the distance, despite landing a huge takedown and getting on top.
Top media outlet Fightland spoke in-depth with Hall, discussing his background in the sport, his amazing coaching from Chael Sonnen on the combat sports reality show and how much he learned from his two losses to current top-10 UFC middleweights Chris Weidman and Constantinos Philippou when he was competing on the local circuit.
Good stuff.
Hall will be throwing down against fellow TUF guy Kelvin Gastelum this Saturday night (April 13, 2013) on The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale in Las Vegas, Nevada.
