UFC 161 has been receiving fight announcement after fight announcement, as the first UFC card set for Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, has already picked up a title fight, co-main event, and other high-quality bouts. Recently, the UFC Canada twitter page announced yet another bout, this one in the welterweight division:

Sean Pierson's UFC career began just over two years ago, after over 11 years and 19 bouts of professional fighting, which posted thirteen wins with six losses. His wins have been spread fairly evenly, with six by way of knockout / technical knockout, four by submission, and three by decision.

Currently, Pierson stands at 3-2 in the UFC, and he's been able to enforce his well-rounded game on opponents including Matt Riddle, Jake Hecht, and Lance Benoist.

Waldburger, an exciting young submission fighter, has had quite a career for a 24 year old. He found himself in the UFC about two years ago, and he has already compiled a 16-7 professional record in MMA. All but three of his victories have come by way of submission, and he's proving to be a very real threat on the mat.

"Barao vs. Wineland" will be the UFC's first event held at Winnipeg's MTS Centre. Its main event features interim bantamweight champion, Renan Barao, defending his strap against gritty veteran Eddie Wineland. In the co-main event, Mauricio Rua and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira are expected to have a rematch of their classic bout in PRIDE.
