Pic: UFC vet Jeff Monson has surgery to repair torn pectoral

Well, that sucks. Former UFC heavyweight Jeff Monson was all set to make a run at the grand prix title in the upcoming M-1 tournament at the Ice Palace in St. Petersburg, Russia, on April 9, 2013. Then "The Snowman" went and shredded his pectoralis major muscle, which required surgery to re-attach. That's what happens when you compete 22 times over a span of three years (maybe he should have kept it simple). Sherdog reports that Monson will be replaced by undefeated Ukrainian prospect Nikita Krylov (13-0) and won't see action again until later this fall. Photo by MixFight.ru.
