Fabricio Werdum wants heavyweight title shot after he ‘beats’ Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira in Brazil

Fabricio Werdum says he is zoned in on his fight against Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira when the two square off at UFC on FUEL TV 10, but once he "beats" the former champion, he wants his shot at the UFC heavyweight title and he doesn't care who it's against.

Former PRIDE and Strikeforce contender Fabricio Werdum wants his shot at the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight title, and he doesn't care who he has to get through to get it.

The first step on his path to the gold is to beat Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira -- the only man to ever hold both the UFC and PRIDE heavyweight titles -- at UFC on FUEL TV 10 when the two jiu-jitsu back belts collide in Fortaleza, Brazil on June 8, 2013.

After he gets revenge on his fellow countryman, "Vai Cavalo" wants to challenge for the 265-pound strap and it makes no difference to him who is holding the belt.

He breaks it down to Pro MMA Now:

"My focus now is Nogueira fight first. After I beat him, I know it's so difficult a fight, but I'm training a lot for this fight. After then, I don't' know who will be the owner of the belt. But, I want the belt. Maybe 'Bigfoot,' Dos Santos, Cain Velasquez, it don't matter, I want the belt."

Fabricio has already faced Junior dos Santos and Antonio Silva, defeating "Bigfoot" under the Strikeforce banner in 2009 and losing to "JDS" in 2008 in the very first round at UFC 90 via knockout in what was the Octagon debut for "Cigano."

That's one loss you can bet the Brazilian submission specialist would like to get back.

But, before he can look forward to his first-ever UFC title fight, he has to get past "Big Nog," the man who defeated him in 2006 via decision in the quarterfinals of the 2006 Pride Open Weight Grand Prix.

Should he get through Nogueira, do you think Fabricio is deserving of the next title shot in the land of the big men? Or will that honor fall upon Mark Hunt should he best Dos Santos at UFC 160?

Who will be the heavyweight titleholder by the time June rolls around?
