Remember all the hubbub stemming from this pic?
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Heavyweight Champion Andrei Arlovski was not secretly campaigning for his former employer last Saturday night (March 23, 2013), when he went three rounds against Anthony Johnson in the main event of World Series of Fighting (WSOF) 2 (watch the highlights here).
He just has giant hands.
"We tried several brands of 3[XL] gloves and none fit [Arlovski's] big hands so someone got a UFC pair and they fit, and there was no time to get another brand," a WSOF official told MMA Fighting's Ariel Helwani.
"The Pitbull" had the UFC logo painted over when he stepped into the cage at the Revel Resort & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, but with all the sweaty action, it eventually wore off. The good news is, glove-gate (which took the heat off cage-gate) will now force WSOF to stock up on meatier mitts.
Assuming Arlovski -- and his broken jaw -- come back to use them.
