The UFC on FUEL TV 10 fight card this summer is nearly complete as a featherweight bout between Godofredo Castro and Felipe Arantes has been added to the June 8, 2013, event, set to go down at Ginasio Paulo Sarasate in Fortaleza, Brazil.
Both men have fought all of their professional bouts in their home country of Brazil, and that trend will continue at UFC on FUEL TV 10.
Brazilian news outlet TATAME first reported the bout; however, UFC officials have yet to confirm the 145-pound bout.
Castro (9-1) rebounded from a loss to Rony Jason in the finals of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF): Brazil with a controversial split decision win over Milton Vieira at UFC on FX 7 last January.
The win over Vieira was the first time in Castro's 10-fight career where he was unable to finish his opponent. Prior to his most recent UFC fights, Castro had finished all of his opponents by (technical) knockout or submission.
Arantes (14-4-1, 2 NC) has had a colorful stint in the UFC thus far, with his three fights ending in a debatable decision loss, a win and a draw. With his inconsistent fight results, the Brazilian has been unable to build any momentum in the division, but he will look to change all that by taking out the TUF: Brazil runner-up.
"Sertanejo" is dangerous both on the feet and on the ground, as he has stopped opponents with his striking and grappling. Arantes also has quite the chin on him as he has never been finished with strikes in his 21-fight career.
It is unknown at this time if Castro vs. Arantes will take place on the main card, which airs on FUEL TV, or the preliminary portion of the card, which is likely to stream on Facebook.
UFC on FUEL TV 10 features a heavyweight main event -- and rematch -- between Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Fabricio Werdum, the two Brazilians who are serving as coaches on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF): Brazil 2.
