Georges St. Pierre vs. Nick Diaz fight results UFC 158, Round 2

The most highly anticipated fight in a long, long time finally went down tonight (Sat., March 16, 2013) at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, with Nick Diaz challenging welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre in the main event of UFC 158 live on pay-per-view.

Round two saw Diaz open with a leg kick, an interesting play considering the way the first five minutes played out. St. Pierre answered with a front kick and stayed at distance until about 35 seconds into the round he ducked under and snagged another takedown.

Yep, that's 3-for-3 so far.

This time, "Rush" worked harder with his offense, throwing far more punches and knees to the body instead of simply controlling Diaz on the mat and neutralizing his offense in every way, shape, and form. It was a one sided beating and the 170-pound king was flexing with his crown on.

Barely breaking a sweat.

Diaz's game plan appeared to be simple: Grab the wrist and try to roll out of trouble, but he wasn't dealing with a student in class back in Stockton. This was "GSP" and he needed something more.

It finally happened when Diaz managed to push away and get to his feet. That's when he started in with the taunting, which St. Pierre answered with a superman jab straight to the chin.

They ended the round on their feet and as the horn sounded, Diaz stayed close to St. Pierre to scream obscenities at him.
