Milwaukee? Good. Old Milwaukee? Better!
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will return to the Bradley Center in Milwaukee, WI, with its UFC 164 pay-per-view (PPV) event, scheduled for Aug. 31, 2013 as part of the Harley Davidson "Hometown Throwdown," according to comments made by promotion president Dana White at this press conference.
No fights have been announced yet for "Brew City."
The world's largest mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion recently renewed its sponsorship agreement with the popular motorcycle manufacturer, which not coincidentally, is located in Milwaukee. As part of the "Hometown Throwdown," fan votes will help determine the televised line up.
Something they did for the Scott Jorgensen vs. Eddie Wineland bout at UFC on FX 3 last June.
This will be UFC's second trip to Milwaukee, having last visited in late 2011. That's when Chris Lytle was able to submit Dan Hardy at UFC on FX 5 in the final fight of his combat sports career. Who will make history nearly two years later?
Time will tell.
