Anderson Silva's first comments on Chris Weidman fight at UFC 162 on July 6 in Las Vegas

For someone who didn't sound particularly enthused to be fighting the "All American," Anderson Silva sure is giddy. Must be that pile of cash he sleeps on every night, I hear it's good for the lumbar.

"I will be fighting Chris Weidman on July 6 at UFC in Vegas. I'm very, very excited for my next fight. Thank you UFC, thank you Dana. I'm very, very excited for my next fight. I never really stopped my training because I like to train, I like my life and I like to fight. I'm very, very happy to stay here in my school, the Muay Thai College to start my training for my coach, for my friends and my students, I'm very, very happy! See you in July!"

Well, it's not exactly Pericles' funeral oration, but for Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva, considering it's in English (proof this wasn't a fluke), we'll have to take what we can get. But can "The Spider" take what he gets from undefeated division number one contender Chris Weidman when they hook 'em up in the main event of UFC 162, which goes down on July 6, 2013 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada? That remains to be seen. What we can be sure of, is how "happy" and "excited" the champ is to be back in training at his new school. I'd probably feel the same way if I earned Anderson Silva money. Step up, SB Nation.
