Welcome, Maniacs, to the thirty-fourth edition of "This Week in MMAmania.com." MMAmania is a gigantic and glorious place and we pump out a ridiculous amount of content. If you don't refresh this site every 60 minutes, you might just miss something amazing.
Have no fears, that's what this weekly article is all about! We'll recap the best of all things MMAmania, whether it be a great comment, a Fan Post, an article, video or something else.
- Comment of the Week: This one goes to GSPoopusher who had one of the funniest descriptions of how a Rampage vs Shogun rematch would go down.
Modern day shogun is the most stationary fighter in the division..him and page could fight inside a hula hoop
-GSPoopusher
- Article of the week: Mike Bohn's "Facts about" articles are always a fun read, but I thought the 21 Facts about UFC on Fuel TV 8 was even better than usual. There were some really interesting observations in there so go give it a look.
- MMAmania's Verbal Submission Podcast: Yes, that's right, folks. The podcast was back this week as yours truly and MMAmania's Mike Bohn discussed everything from women fighting in UFC, a preview of UFC on FUEL TV 8 and more. We also interviewed UFC featherweight Clay Guida, who will be battling Chad Mendes at UFC on Fox 7 next month.
Did you miss it? Don't worry, you can listen to the archived podcast by clicking on the player below: (I apologize for the technical difficulties in the opening minute)
- Statistic of the Week: With Ronda Rousey making her UFC debut last weekend, one of our most popular articles this week was the nude photos from her ESPN The Body issue......which is over six months old. I am SHOCKED by this development. Completely SHOCKED!
- Fanpost of the Week: I am John Galt had a fantastic piece about how Tito Ortiz and Cris Cyborg missed the boat in the handling of the UFC and Invicta contracts and PR. If you haven't read it already, go do it, dammit!
- Honorable mention fanpost of the week: Marcus Krueger wrote a very interesting take on "How Chael Sonnen earned his title shot against Jon Jones." I highly recommend checking it out.
- Honorable mention comment of the week: Plainview had some hilarious words of advice for Bellator chief Bjorn Rebney.
Bjorn really needs to come up with another persona. The Bald, dickhead-looking, asshole in a black suit look is taken.
- Plainview
- Burn of the Week: Every once in a while, I see a good insult that makes me laugh out loud. This one was subtle, but just downright perfect as MMAmania writer Patrick L. Stumberg nailed tonythebull in a beautiful twist.
I'm probably one of the few people on here with a Literature degree and I personally hate grammar fairys like you. These are fan posts, none of us are getting paid and even the best writers have someone proof read and edit their work. Take it from me, someone who knows from professional experience.
- tonythebull

- Interview of the Week: In case you missed it, I had a wonderful chat with UFC featherweight Clay Guida talking everything from Dana White saying he's not exciting anymore to fighting friends, you name it. It's lengthy but I promise it's worth it.
But that's not all, we also have interviews with newly VFD Marketing Managing Director Elie Deshe (part one and part two) and Mike Bohn had a great chat with retired UFC fighter and current commentator Kenny Florian.
- Video of the Week: This week, it's the "highly education" compilation video from our favorite ladies at MMA Candy. Did you learn anything?
We don't just have great content on MMAmania, our writers also are very active on Twitter, most notably our beloved Geno Mrosko. Unfortunately, Geno seems to have deleted his Twitter account a while ago, so other Mania writers had to step up their game. Let's see how they did.
Here's our honorary #GenoTime Tweet of the Week: Our big winners this week were George Halvatzis Jr. and Andrew Richardson
If I'm at a grocery store and some punk tries to do a 'gallon smash' I'm going to beat the hell out of him.
-George Halvatzis Jr.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Riddle's cut is a sign to fighters:drunkenly crash ur car, submit nonhuman urine to cover your PED use, abuse TRT,but dont legally smoke pot
-Andrew Richardson
If you want to catch any good tweets from your Mania writers, here are our accounts: Thomas Myers, Jesse Holland,Adam Guillen Jr., Mike Bohn, Andrew Richardson, George Halvatsis Jr. and Brian Hemminger.
- Obligatory TNA of the Week: She could whip her hair back and forth all the damn day long without a complaint from me.
- Scottidog's "Good guy comment of the week" - In honor of Scottidog, probably the best guy in the history of MMAmania commenters, I'm bringing in a new weekly category to honor a Maniac who goes out of their way to do something nice. This week's award goes to MMAmania's resident geezer Ulf Murphy, who dropped some real world knowledge and advice on a younger poster.
You're argument is not based upon maturity, so I treat it as such. If you would like to tell me your age, i would be glad to listen, but I would bet money that you are under 22 and haven't had anything more than hourly wage jobs your entire life. Maybe I win, maybe I lose. Either way, your writing paints this picture for me and almost everyone else with half a brain on here. If I am wrong, maybe you should work on your character development on Mania.
-Ulf Murphy
Lastly, let's finish off the week with some Maniac debate. As the week comes to a close, let's get some input:
Did you think the debut of female fighting at UFC 157 was a success? Please explain why whether your answer is yes or no.
That's it for this week. If you've got an extra suggestions for content, or nominations for articles, comments or discussion topics, please feel free to e-mail me at (and I made this e-mail especially for this): HemmingerMMA@gmail.com.
