Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White said it was coming, he just didn't say who. And I've got bad news for all the finger pointers following the UFC on FX 7: "Belfort vs. Bisping" event, which went down back on Jan. 19, 2013 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Vitor Belfort is innocent.
Thiago Tavares, however, is not, according to the newly-formed Brazilian Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Athletic Commission. The longtime lightweight veteran, who was pasted by Russian import Khabib Nurmagomedov, was popped for the anabolic steroid drostanalone and suspended for nine months.
Tatame.com brought word of the commission's finding earlier today.
That should come as a relief for Michael Bisping, who expressed his concern last week (read it here) over what was possibly a tainted victory. The good news is, "The Phenom" played by the rules. The bad news is, "The Count" is still at the back of the 185-pound line.
