Bellator Fighting Championships returns TONIGHT (Feb. 14, 2013) at Bojangles Arena Charlotte, North Carolna, with a bantamweight title fight and the season eight middleweight tournament quarterfinals.
MMAmania.com will provide LIVE blow-by-blow, round-by-round coverage of Bellator 89 below, beginning with the Spike TV telecast at 10 p.m. ET. In addition, we'll deliver up-to-the-minute quick results of all the undercard action much earlier in the evening (beginning at 8 p.m. ET), as well as a live stream of the preliminary action.
Headlining the main event will be a bantamweight title fight between reigning champion Eduardo Dantas and his friend, mentor and teammate Marcos Galvao. This will be Dantas first fight since suffering a huge upset knockout loss to Tyson Nam last summer, which delayed his initial title defense by two months.
Also on tap will be the Bellator season eight middleweight tournament quarterfinals which feature a wide array of heavy hitters including knockout artist Brian Rogers, Swedish kickboxer Andreas Spang, fan-favorite brawler Brett Cooper and former WEC light heavyweight champion Doug Marshall among others.

135 lb. title: Eduardo Dantas vs. Marcos Galvão
Round one: Galvao takes control of the cage center early, winging a right hand and then a leg kick. Dantas responds with an inside leg kick and then another. Dantas' kicks are too fast for Galvao at least early. Stiff jab from Dantas and Galvao responds with an outside leg kick. Galvao tries to score with an overhand right but he can't land it. Dantas slips during a kick and Galvao secures a back body lock along the fence. Galvao throws some knees and lifts Dantas into the air but can't keep him on the canvas. Knees to the thigh from Galvao and he tries to drag Dantas down to no avail. Dantas spins towards Galvao and separates, going back to his left jab. Heavy left hand from Dantas staggers Galvao but he recovers quickly. Push kick from Dantas and he again scores with the jab. Nice 1-2 from Dantas and Galvao responds with a knee and a left hand. Over hand right from Dantas scores for Dantas and Galvao responds with a right on the exit. Galvao steps forward with a right hand at the bell. 10-9 Dantas
Round two: Outside leg kick from Dantas and then another. Dantas is really utilizing his speed advantage here, throwing front kicks to the body and jabs. Galvao is stalking Dantas and a nice head kick from Dantas drops Galvao but he recovers and swings wildly enough to back Dantas off. Left jab from Dantas and Galvao presses forward with a big pair of bombs but Dantas is just too fast for him. Spinning back kick from Dantas and he is really looking for that knockout. Huge lead uppercut scores for Dantas and Galvao is hurt badly! Galvao drops and Dantas swarms him with hammer fists and Galvao goes out cold!
Final Result: Eduardo Dantas defeats Marcos Galvao via knockout (Uppercut and hammer fists) at 3:02 of round two

185 lbs.: Dan Cramer vs. Brian Rogers
Round one: Big right hand from Rogers early and Cramer responds with a right of his own. Cramer clinches with some short knees and throws a nice short uppercut but Rogers slams him to the canvas with a nasty toss. Cramer sweeps him and takes top position, landing in half guard. Rogers scrambles, trying to get to his feet but Cramer has control of his legs which is keeping him from getting to his feet. Rogers kicks off and pops back to his feet but Cramer grabs a body lock and takes him down again, this time in the cage center. Rogers escapes back to his feet but Cramer scores a nice lead right hand that lands with power. Rogers steps forward with a heavy body kick and he sidesteps a right hand from Cramer but can't take advantage of the angle. Nice 1-2 from Cramer backs Rogers off and Rogers responds with a right hand. Nice leg kick from Rogers and then another and Rogers scores with a big flurry of short punches on the inside. Rogers throws a heavy body kick but slips and allows Cramer to grab a body lock for about 20 seconds. They trade big blows in the final 10 seconds. 10-9 Cramer
Round two: Rogers steps for and scores with a big left hand. They clinch and Rogers lands a beautiful lateral drop. Rogers steps inside and drops some heavy hammer fists but backs off and creates separation. Rogers is looking for the right hand but Cramer scores with his lead right. Another lateral drop from Rogers and he lands some heavy right hands but Cramer escapes to his feet. Cramer shoots in for a takedown and he gets it along the fence. Rogers gets back to his feet and Cramer backs him into the fence, scoring an outside trip and landing on top in half guard. Cramer advances to side control and briefly to mount but Rogers hip escapes back to half guard. Rogers escapes back to his feet and swarms Cramer with heavy punches until the bell. 10-9 Rogers
Round three: Both men throw some punches but nothing significant lands. Cramer closes the distance and works for a takedown but Rogers fends him off with an attempted throw. Cramer presses the action, landing a few punches adn Rogers takes inside position. Rogers scores with a heavy punch and then a body kick on the break. Rogers lands a huge right but Cramer responds with a big knee that hurts Rogers to the body. Cramer takes him down and drops right hands, passing to half guard and now to side control. Cramer passes to full mount but Rogers escapes by attacking with a heel hook. HUGE KNEE from Rogers and Cramer is hurt! Rogers swarms with a flurry of punches and then another knee but Cramer is still on his feet. Rogers clinches and during a wild scramble, he lands on top. Cramer escapes to his feet and now he scores a takedown. Rogers tries to get to his feet but Cramer holds him down. Rogers throws hammer fists from bottom as time expires. What a fight! 10-9 Cramer
Final Result: Dan Cramer defeats Brian Rogers via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 29-28)

185 lbs.: Brett Cooper vs. Norman Paraisy
Round one: Lead uppercut from Cooper and he's on the early offensive. Paraisy fires back with a pair of hooks and Cooper shoots in for a takedown along the fence, but Paraisy stuffs it. Body kick from Paraisy then a leg kick but Cooper shoots in and takes him down, but can't keep him there. Cooper works for a single leg along the fence but can't secure it. Cooper scores another takedown along the fence and lands some right hands as Paraisy gets back to his feet, but Paraisy fires back with a heavy knee. Good left hand from Paraisy and Cooper shoots in for another takedown along the fence but they're at a stalemate. Paraisy throws another knee and Cooper slams Paraisy with a huge takedown, unloading with some heavy blows but Paraisy gets back to his feet and fires another heavy shot. They clinch and this time Paraisy scores a takedown but Cooper gets back to his feet, changes levels and now he's got another takedown. Cooper passes to half guard and throws one last shot before the bell. 10-9 Cooper
Round two: Paraisy opens with early aggression and Cooper blasts him with a heavy uppercut that rocks him. Cooper swarms him and Paraisy goes down and he follows him to the ground. Paraisy scores a sweep and is briefly on top but Cooper reverses and advances to side control, dropping heavy punches. Paraisy tries to scramble but Cooper is all over him, advancing to a high half guard and dropping punches. Paraisy rolls and attempts a single leg, which allows him to escape to his feet, but Cooper again clinches and is working for a takedown and he gets it. Cooper drops a few short punches and then takes Paraisy down again with authority when he tries to get to his feet. Paraisy gets to his feet and scores a takedown right before the bell sounds. 10-9 Cooper
Round three: Cooper scores another early takedown but Paraisy cagewalks back to his feet and they separate. That doesn't last long as Cooper shoots in for another takedown and gets it. After returning to his feet, Cooper scores a big uppercut and takes Paraisy down once more. Paraisy turtles and Cooper attacks his back, putting both hooks in and hunting for a choke, but Paraisy rotates and lands on top in his guard. Cooper squirms back to his feet and drops for a takedown, dumping Paraisy on his back again and he keeps him there until time expires. 10-9 Cooper
Final Result: Brett Cooper defeats Norman Paraisy via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)

185 lbs.: Doug Marshall vs. Andreas Spang
Round one: Marshall opens with a heavy leg kick and Spang backs him towards the fence, looking to land a heavy hook. Spang backs Marshall off with a pair of hooks in combination and blocks a leg kick. Marshall throws a heavy right hand that looks like it rocked Spang but he can't swarm him and go for the finish. Marshall clinches but Spang takes inside position along the cage and they're separated. Both men throw bombs and Marshall scores with a heavy right hand but can't follow-up. Marshall throws a MASSIVE right hook and Spang goes down! That's it!
Final Result: Doug Marshall defeats Andreas Spang via knockout at 3:03 of round one
