Add another trophy to the case.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White has been named "Sports Innovator of the Year 2013" by Sports Business International (SBI), for his ability to "think outside the box" and take the ZUFFA owned mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion global.

From SBI editor Matt Cutler (via The Telegraph):

"For both our subscribers and our judging panel, Dana White's aggressive global expansion plans for the UFC gained real traction in 2013. How far he has taken the sports property in such a short period of time has been remarkable. If sports executives want to look at ways to really think outside the box commercially, they should take a look at what White has achieved this year."

UFC has already unveiled an ambitious International schedule for 2014 including stops in England, Russia, Sweden, Poland, Ireland, Turkey, Scotland and Germany.

This recent accolade will have a hard time finding a spot on White's mantle, since he already took home a Patriot Award, became one of the most powerful people in sports, then made GQ's "Bald 100," in addition to becoming an honorary Patron of the Phil.

Not bad for a guy who constantly tells his critics to STFU.
