The latest "official" Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) rankings are out with the conclusion of UFC 168, which took place last weekend (Sat., Dec. 28, 2013) at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
And in a predictable turn of events, former UFC Middleweight champion Anderson Silva has tumbled down the pound-for-pound rankings four spots, while the man who defeated him for the second straight time, Chris Weidman, retained his 185-pound title and moved up three slots on the same list.
Strangely, Silva -- who was shattered his shin in the second round, forcing a stoppage of the main event rematch -- did not move on the Middleweight totem pole, holding strong at No. 2 even though Vitor Belfort is clearly the second best in the division at this moment.
Aside from Travis Brown cracking the Heavyweight Top 5 after his huge win over Josh Barnett, there were few other notable changes; however, as previously reported, each category has been expanded to include five extra spots, expanding from 10 to 15. Therefore, several fresh faces make their "official" rankings debuts below.
