Nate Diaz may have turned in his best career performance at last night's (Sat., Nov. 30, 2013) The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 18 Finale at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, as he knocked out Gray Maynard in the very first round of their lightweight main event showcase. Diaz survived an early takedown, got back to his feet, and absolutely owned "The Bully", erasing a two fight losing streak by blitzing his foe with a series of never-ending punches that might still be firing away had referee Yves Lavigne not stepped in to call a stop to the action. Even still, there's an argument to be made that Lavigne was way late on the stoppage and allowed Maynard to take far too much damage. And while Diaz is suddenly back on the top contender ladder with this one impressive showing, Maynard has now been viciously knocked out in three of his last four outings. It may be time to talk about his retiring. For much more on "Maynard vs. Diaz" click here, and for complete TUF 18 Finale results and blow-by-blow coverage of all the night's action click here.
