"I have Joe Silva on line one..."
Will Campusano will get a second chance at Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) stardom when he steps in to fight Sergio Pettis at the upcoming UFC 167: "St. Pierre vs. Hendricks" pay-per-view (PPV) event, which takes place on Nov. 16, 2013, at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Campusano, who replaces the injured Vaughan Lee, made the announcement on his official Twitter account.
The Texan was sent packing after starting 0-2 inside the Octagon in 2010-11, but has since racked up five straight wins (with three finishes) on the local circuit. While he's been doing work as a flyweight, he won't have to worry about cutting much weight, since Pettis had agreed to make his UFC debut at 135 pounds.
Can he play spoiler?
Pettis (9-0) has three wins as an undefeated amateur in addition to his perfect professional mixed martial arts (MMA) record, recently appearing for Ed Soares under the Resurrection Fighting Alliance (RFA) banner earlier this year in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Can he follow in his older brother Anthony's footsteps?
