Tim Kennedy hasn't earned a 'top guy' yet, will settle for Michael Bisping fight

"The Count" will not like this not-so sneaky call out one bit. And that's that point.

Joshua Lindsey-USA TODAY Sports

Despite Tim Kennedy's impressive first-round knockout win over Rafael Natal was last night (Nov. 6, 2013) at UFC Fight Night 31: "Fight for Troops 3" (watch it again here), the former U.S. Army Ranger wasn't about to call-out a Middleweight contender for his next match until he returned to social media.

It didn't take long.

Kennedy took to Twitter.com earlier this afternoon to influence the powers who be at Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) to pair up him up with a "lesser" challenge in the form of Michael Bisping.

Check out what the former Strikeforce 185-pound No. 1 title contender had to say:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>I don&#39;t think I have earned a shot at any of the top guys. I think the <a href="https://twitter.com/ufc">@UFC</a> should give me someone like <a href="https://twitter.com/bisping">@bisping</a></p>&mdash; Tim Kennedy (@TimKennedyMMA) <a href="https://twitter.com/TimKennedyMMA/statuses/398551061717200896">November 7, 2013</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

That's what the kids these days call a back-handed "burn."

Nonetheless, UFC President Dana White promised to give Kennedy an "important" fight following his spectacular win over "Sapo" at Fort Campbell in Kentucky. Perhaps matching him up against a longtime staple in the 185-pound division such as Bisping would make White's decision much easier.

But, that fight would have to wait because "The Count" is currently recuperating from an almost career-ending eye injury he suffered during training. But, judging by Kennedy's tweet, it's safe to assume he's willing to wait for a healthy Bisping.

Anyone oppose to this potential match up?
