They are the forgotten victims.
When a fighter is hurt and forced to withdraw, we usually extend our sympathy to his/her opponent, as well as to ourselves, when we, as mixed martial arts (MMA) fans, are denied a high-profile match-up we were already looking forward to, as was the case when Anthony Pettis bailed on his upcoming title fight against Josh Thomson.
See how that mess unfolded here.
But lost in the shadow of our pity party are the fine men and women responsible for creating the posters for each Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) event, as well as the marketing materials that feature each fighter. They go through all the trouble of designing creative, only to have to go back and start all over when the shit hits the fan.
I know, I know, call the wahmbulance.
Anyway, with "Showtime" shelved until further notice (damn that knee), UFC had to rob Peter to pay Paul, as The Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale main event of Demetrious Johnson vs. Joseph Benavidez (part two) has been shipped off to anchor the UFC on FOX 9 event on Dec. 14 in Sacramento, California.

With "Mighty Mouse" taking his flyweight title defense elsewhere, the TUF 18 Finale now gets a new main event, as well as a new poster. Get a closer look at what the re-worked event has to offer after going into the shop for repairs (here), while keeping in mind the pickins are slim until the conclusion of the network's combat sports reality show this Wednesday night (Nov. 27) on FOX Sports 1.
In the meantime, what's your take on this new poster?
