Lorenzo Fertitta: UFC will stage 46 live events in 2014

35 events? Pffft. Lorenzo Fertitta says Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will up that number and stage a total of 46 shows in 2014.

Just when you thought you couldn't get enough Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in your life, the world's pre-eminent  mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion will stage a total of 54 live events in 2014, not 35 as originally reported.

That's right, 46.

Ariel Helwani got the word from UFC head cheese, Lorenzo Fertitta.

**Fertitta later clarified his initial remarks, revealing the promotion planned 46, not 54 as mentioned in the embedded Tweet, live events for 2013.

That should be more than enough to cure fight fans' insatiable hunger to keep getting fed fight after fight ... after fight.

Of course, it's all part of UFC's plan for world domination as the Zuffa-owned company has plans to continue its growth overseas as the promotion already has the wheels in motion to stage live events in Singapore, Poland, Turkey, Germany for the first time as well to continue its expansion in London, Ireland, China and Scotland.

And let's not forget Mexico, Philippines, and Mother Russia.

Aside from pay-per-view (PPV) events, there will be numerous fight cards that will be of no cost to you, because thanks to UFC's partnership with FOX, fight fans who aren't able to dish out $54.95 every month can tune in to FOX Sports 1, FOX Sports 2 and FOX to get their MMA fix.

But, when it comes to these specific "Fight Night" events, U.S.-based viewers will be out of luck.

No worries, thanks to UFC's ambitious schedule, I'm sure fight fans worldwide will have more than enough events to ingest that missing one or two might be a welcome break for some.

Then again, maybe not.
