The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has seen some amazing moments in its 20 years as a promotion.
In fact, the world's most prominent mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion celebrates the 20 year anniversary later this month with UFC 167: "St-Pierre vs. Hendricks" at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Nov. 16, 2013.
While there is no question that fans are drawn in by the absolute brutality of MMA, it's those moments when a fighter uses technique and finesse to end a fight with a beautiful submission.
To help get fans excited for UFC 167, Fox Sports is keeping with the "20" theme and counting down the "20 Best Submissions" in UFC history.

#1. Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen - UFC 117
The top two spots had to have been decided after a long and drawn out discussion.
On one hand, Mir's kimura at UFC 140 was unexpected. Not just because he forced "Big Nog" to tap, but because he was out on his feet just minutes earlier.
But who can argue against Anderson Silva's Hail Mary triangle choke at UFC 117? Sonnen dominated him from pillar to post and the fifth round just seemed like a technicality. Silva's submission win was one of the top "OH SH*T!" moments in MMA history.
So those are the choices for top submissions in UFC history. "UFC" being the qualifier. So let's hear it. What were your favorite submissions outside of the UFC?
Sound off!
