UFC 167 injuries and medical suspensions: St-Pierre gets 45-day delay, Hendricks faces six-month sit

Now that the dust has settled and the smoke has cleared, it's time to find out who's worse for the wear following the carnage at UFC 167: "St-Pierre vs. Hendricks" this past weekend (Sat., Nov. 16, 2013) in "Sin City."

The complete list of UFC 167 fighter injuries and medical suspensions for those who competed at the "St-Pierre vs. Hendricks" pay-per-view (PPV) event this past Saturday night (Nov. 16, 2013) from MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, were released to MMAmania.com earlier today by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC).

And, just like the main event between Georges St-Pierre vs. Johny Hendricks, the results might surprise a few mixed martial arts (MMA) fans.

That's because Hendricks -- who looked fresh as a daisy after five rounds of action -- faces a lengthier sit than St. PIerre, who was battered, bruised, but not beaten, thanks to the heavy hands of "Bigg Rigg" and some questionable judging. Indeed, Hendricks might have tweaked his knee (not his hands), while St. Pierre appear to only have aesthetic injuries to go along with his "personal problems."

The only other notable nick was Ali Bagautinov, who faces a similar six-month sit to Hendricks because of a possible injury to his foot.

Here is the complete list of UFC 167 fighter injuries and their medical instructions:

Georges St-Pierre: Suspended until Jan. 1, 2014, and no contact until Dec. 17, 2013.

Johny Hendricks: Suspended until May 17, 2014, with a possible right knee injury unless orthopedic physician clears him to return sooner. Minimum suspension until Dec. 17. 2013, and no contact until Dec. 8, 2013.

Chael Sonnen: Suspended until Jan. 1, 2014, and no contact until Dec. 17, 2013.

Rory MacDonald: Suspended until Dec. 17, 2013, and no contact until Dec. 8, 2013.

Josh Koscheck: Suspended until Jan. 1, 2014, and no contact until Dec. 17, 2013.

Ali Bagautinov: Suspended until May 17, 2014, with a possible left foot injury unless orthopedic physician clears him to return sooner. Minimum suspension until Dec. 17. 2013, and no contact until Dec. 8, 2013.

Evan Dunham: Suspended until Jan. 1, 2014, and no contact until Dec. 17, 2013, because of a left eyebrow laceration.

Rick Story: Suspended until Jan. 1, 2014, and no contact until Dec. 17, 2013, because of a left eyebrow laceration.

Erik Perez: Suspended until Dec. 17, 2013, and no contact until Dec. 8, 2013, because of a laceration on bridge of nose.

Gian Villante: Suspended until May 17, 2014, with possible injuries to both hands unless orthopedic physician clears him to return sooner.

Cody Donovan: Suspended until May 17, 2014, with a possible right hand injury unless orthopedic physician clears him to return sooner after x-ray examination. Minimum suspension until Dec. 17. 2013, and no contact until Dec. 8, 2013.

Again, just a quick reminder: Fighters often return to action much quicker once doctors give them the green light. The lengthy suspensions are just a precaution in most cases.
