Georges St. Pierre retains his welterweight championship title via controversial split decision over Johny Hendricks in the main event of last night's (Sat., Nov. 16, 2013) UFC 167: "St. Pierre vs. Hendricks" pay-per-view (PPV) event at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The bout was incredibly close all throughout, though the champion admitted after that he was so beaten and battered during the five-round, 25-minute affair he suffered memory loss. Hendricks, meanwhile, looked none the worse for the wear and was open with his disgust at the decision. There's no doubting it was a super close fight that probably could have gone either way. Really, nearly any scorecard that showed how close it was could be justified, be it slanted in St. Pierre's favor or Hendricks. The ringside judges agreed the champion should keep his belt, however, and they are the only three who count, at least here and now.
