Georges St. Pierre vs. Johny Hendricks fight results UFC 167, Round 5

Georges St. Pierre, quite possibly the greatest welterweight of all time, attempted to defend his 170-pound title tonight (Sat., Nov. 16, 2013) against Johny Hendricks in the main event of UFC 167: "St. Pierre vs. Hendricks" at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The fifth and final frame saw St. Pierre come out quickly and firing punches in the center. Then, for some reason, the champion shot in for another takedown.

But he failed.

Not only that, "Big Rig" reversed "Rush" against the fence again. They reset before another takedown attempt from the French-Canadian, one that actually worked this time. Unfortunately, for the champion at least, he couldn't do anything with it.

He wasn't strong enough.

Once they stood back up, Hendricks simply needed to survive and get to the cards, or it certainly appeared that way. St. Pierre, once again, went back to all he knew, wrestling. He worked for an arm and a submission but the horn sounded and that was that.

Amazing scores from the judges: St. Pierre 48-47 twice, Hendricks 48-47. That's a split decision win for the champion.
