Georges St. Pierre vs. Johny Hendricks fight results UFC 167, Round 2

Georges St. Pierre, quite possibly the greatest welterweight of all time, attempted to defend his 170-pound title tonight (Sat., Nov. 16, 2013) against Johny Hendricks in the main event of UFC 167: "St. Pierre vs. Hendricks" at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Hendricks came out in the second round throwing kicks that St. Pierre countered with a stiff jab. After exchanging a few more kicks, the challenger got aggressive, jumping in with more offense than he had before.

Then, Hendricks landed a hard shot and started firing away. St. Pierre was clearly rocked and Hendricks was coming in harder and harder, trying to knock the champion out.

It wasn't happening, though.

Amazingly enough, "Rush" was surviving with some combination of will and perseverance.

Hendricks inexplicably shot in and held St. Pierre against the fence for a time before "GSP" reversed out and reset in the center. Once there, he went back to throwing kicks. Both guys were starting to look tired already, Hendricks due to a combination of punching himself out and poor cardio, and St. Pierre due to damage sustained in the earlier onslaught.

Still, they stood in the center and exchanged punches and kicks.

Hendricks continued coming down the pipe with that hard left hand while St. Pierre countered with right hands. It was closer towards the end of the round but Hendricks appeared to have the edge after the first two frames.
