UFC 167 results: Tyron Woodley knocks out Josh Koscheck

Sickening knockout.

USA TODAY Sports

Both Josh Koscheck and Tyron Woodley entered their welterweight showdown at tonight's (Sat., Nov. 16, 2013) UFC 167: "St. Pierre vs. Hendricks" pay-per-view (PPV) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, having lost two of their past three bouts.

Do or die time.

Woodley treated it as such early, blasting the former title challenger right out of the gate and forcing a takedown attempt. A follow up knee also did some damage, but Koscheck survived by pressing his opponent up against the fence while regaining his bearings.

Once they reset in the center, some heavy blows were exchanged, including a hard right down the pipe from Koscheck, one that staggered Woodley for a moment. Woodley stayed in tight, though, and it wasn't long before he was back firing away with huge shots.

Once they started landing, the former Ultimate Fighter contestant found himself flat on his back defending punches by simply getting hit and not going out. His defense improved to hugging Tyron from the bottom and recovering that way. Eventually, though, the referee stood them back up and it was there that Woodley finished the job.

"The Chosen One" landed a couple huge punches clean to the chin and Koscheck couldn't survive any more punishment.

One did and one died.
