Although the top two fights at tonight's (Sat., Nov. 16, 2013) UFC 167: "St. Pierre vs. Hendricks" pay-per-view (PPV) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, are the big sellers, there's a welterweight clash earlier on the card that could steal the show.
I'm talking, of course, about Rory MacDonald vs. Robbie Lawler.
About the match-up, MacDonald is respectful:
"I've watched him since I was a really young guy. He's a good striker and he's been around for a long time so he's got a lot of experience. I'm honored to be stepping in there against a guy like that. People should expect a pretty exciting fight and a dominanting performance on my behalf. I just think I'm better than Robbie and I think that it's going to show on fight night."
Lawler, meanwhile, is his usual self:
"Rory MacDonald... Really good fighter. Long, rangy, kind of like a karate style, nice jab, good kicks, decent takedowns. He likes to dictate pace. He's pretty high up there on the food chain. I know what I'm capable of. I know what I can do. I've done some awesome things and no one has seen my full potential yet. I'm just going to go out there and beat him up. It's going to be a fun day. Here I come."
Who takes it, Maniacs?
See you then!
