Nate Diaz recently sent out this tweet implying that Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was paying its fighters to back out of every other fight.
Bitching outta everyother fight now ?wonder what that's like? #urpayingthesepussys

A message most of the mixed martial arts (MMA) community felt was aimed at current UFC Lightweight Champion Anthony Pettis, seeing as how the Tweet made its way online shortly after "Showtime" was forced out of his title fight against Josh Thomson at UFC on FOX 9 in Sacramento, California, due to injury.
A card Nate desperately wanted to be on.
Not one to bite his tongue, Pettis went to his own Twitter account to fire back at the outspoken Diaz:
2 losses + lisssssp + best offense is your middle finger = can't talk shit!!! #votepettis

Ouch!
After mulling it over, "Showtime" seemed to cool off a bit and posted this follow up tweet:
I shouldn't let people who talk trash get me out of character. #champ4areason

Though Diaz won't likely share much compassion, Anthony's injury is indeed quite serious as the dynamic striker could face a six-month layoff if his torn PCL requires surgery.
Should that be the case, I'm sure fight fans would love nothing more than to see Diaz rack up a few quality wins in the interim starting with Gray Maynard at The Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale -- if Nate manages to make the fight -- in order to earn himself another crack at the title and a potential fight against Pettis.
Because there's nothing better than seeing a two men duke it out in the center of the cage instead of trading barbs over the internet.
Plus, it would be an easy payday for Pettis, to boot.
