Looks like someone in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) jumped the gun.
Jon Jones will NOT be defending his light heavyweight title against Glover Teixeira at the upcoming UFC 170 pay-per-view (PPV) event, which is scheduled to take place on Feb. 22, 2014 at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Why, you may ask? Because UFC President Dana White said so.
Dana: Jones vs Teixeira is now NOT happening on 2/22. He just found out before the presser. It might happen in march now. He wouldn't say y.

Sorry folks, that's all we have to go on at this time.
Jones was originally announced for the main event of UFC 169 over Super Bowl Weekend; however, the world's leading mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion was forced to retract that announcement when Jones indicated that he would not be ready after such a grueling battle opposite Alexander Gustafsson at UFC 165.
His exact words? "It's not necessary to rush anything."
Apparently not. The good news is, "Bones" is still fighting Teixeira, we just don't know when and where. Even when we do, we still don't.
Stay tuned.
