Don't expect a lot -- if any -- mean mugging from these two.
That's because former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight Champion Lyoto Machida is a friend and part-time team mate of UFC Fight Night 30 headliner Mark Munoz, who welcomes "The Dragon" to 185 pounds on Oct. 26, 2013 at Phones4U Arena in Manchester, England.
We can thank Michael Bisping for that.
It should come as no surprise then, to see Machida and "The Filipino Wrecking Machine" shaking hands and flashing their pearly whites during a recent photo op overseas, which the dapper Brazilian posted to his official Facebook page (see it here).
Will the winner get an immediate title shot? This trainer seems to think so.
That could be easier for Munoz (13-3) than Machida (19-4). The former is 5-1 over his last six fights while the latter is just 3--3. "The Dragon" is a former titleholder, but that alone may not be enough reason to leapfrog more worthy contenders at 185 pounds, like Ronaldo Souza and Vitor Belfort. We'll see what the future brings as this division is in turmoil until UFC 168.
Early predictions for Machida vs. Munoz?
