After Tito Ortiz fractured his neck, Bellator MMA knew they had to find a light heavyweight who was durable enough to stand and bang against Quinton Jackson.

Though they probably would have settled for someone durable enough to make it through training camp.

That said, the world's number two mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion was eager to scoop up 205-pound slugger Joey Beltran, who found himself on the open market after failing to make any progress in the ranks of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

As a result, "The Mexicutioner" has a chance to play spoiler in the Bellator 108 main event, which takes place on Nov. 15, 2013 at Revel Resort & Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The main card -- which also features a middleweight bout between Alexander Shlemenko vs. Doug Marshall -- airs on Spike TV with Prelims streaming via Spike.com.
