UFC Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 18 episode 9 results recap for 'Team Rousey vs. Team Tate' on FOX Sports 1

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is back for episode nine of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 18, led by bantamweight coaches and UFC 168 co-main event rivals Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate.

We kick things off with Team Tate having burgers after the last elimination fight because, well, who doesn't love a juicy burger? Cody Bollinger can't partake because he's cutting weight for his upcoming scrap against Anthony Gutierrez, who is training in the gym and praising the Diaz brothers.

Coach Rousey refers to him as "annoying and squirrely," but means it as a compliment.

Bollinger is enduring a long and brutal weight cut but both Tate and assistant coach Bryan Caraway are right there with him every step of the way. Not only to keep an eye on him, but to make sure he doesn't make any mistakes. All the fun stuff is there, including rubber suits, salt baths and giving up.

We get a TUF 18 commercial on FOX Sports 1 featuring Gutierrez, so I guess he advances.

Tate and Caraway, for all the heat they get, are trying to be good coaches and won't let Bollinger go down without a fight. "Cupcake" even pulls out a picture of his kids. Back at the house, they try to get him into an ice bath to shock his body but he's already made up his mind.

Raquel Pennington is like, "Nah, fuck that."

She throws his ass back in the tub after he already guzzled some fluids but then he jumps out again. Cody finally admits that he's a quitter and the house is shamed. Take note, aspiring TUF guys, as there is more to being a mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter than just kicking ass inside the Octagon.

UFC President Dana White finds out Bollinger can't make weight and kicks him off the show, because he took a spot away from some other fighter just to quit on the day of the weigh ins. We get one last interview of Cody crying and that's it, time to move on.

Not surprisingly, Rousey blames Tate for the entire fiasco.

Chris Beal is pegged as a possible replacement; however, the athletic commission won't allow Gutierrez to hit the scale again until the following Monday, so he passes on the weight-cutting yo-yo idea and advances to the semifinals by way of forfeit.

That leaves us with the ladies.

Sarah Moras says her opponent is very pale and a ginger, which is an unusual scouting report, but then again, Moras is an unusual woman. She's concerned about her reach disadvantage against "the giraffe" and plans to drag her to the floor and pound on her.

On the other hand...

Peggy Morgan is missing her son Oliver but knows the sacrifice will be worth it. She feels "relaxed" and "focused" heading into her fight. Coach Rousey is worried about takedown defense but hopes Morgan's reach will nullify the shots and keep her off the cage.

We shall see.

Elimination fight #8: Peggy Morgan vs. Sarah Moras

Round 1: Brittney sighting! The first minute is a feeling out process as both girls try to find their range. Moras getting out-struck so she shoots and gets the takedown. Morgan pops right back up and Moras pushes her into the cage. Morgan powers out and opens up her hands. Moras has seen enough and takes her down. Morgan butt-scooting up against the fence and Moras works for position. Two minutes left to fight and the referee warns them for inactivity. 30 seconds go by and he warns them again. Moras slowly but surely pushes Morgan down and gets mount. Bombs begin to drop and Peggy rolls for an escape -- right into a fight-ending armbar.

Final result: Moras def. Morgan via submission (armbar)
