Chael Sonnen may already have his next two Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fights lined up, but that isn't stopping him from trying to book his third.
While in Manchester, England, for UFC Fight Night 30, "American Gangster" took part in a Q & A session (watch full video replay here) with local fans to answer any and all questions the Brits had to offer.
When the topic of a fight against Vitor Belfort came up, Sonnen didn't waste any time in saying he still has his eyes set on "The Phenom" and eventually sees himself punching him in the face repeatedly. Despite the fact that Sonnen labeled the Brazilian bomber the second "scariest guy" on UFC's roster, runner up to Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones.
Sonnen's words (via MMA Weekly):
"I've been trying to fight Vitor for a long time now. And I think Vitor is awesome. I think Vitor is probably the second scariest guy in the UFC right now, right under Jon Jones. But I think he's beatable. I think I can beat him. And I really don't care either way. I'm going to go punch him in the face repeatedly."
Of course, both men have their plates full as Belfort is booked to take on Dan Henderson in the main event of UFC Fight Night 32 on Nov. 9, 2013, while Sonnen is gearing up to challenge Rashad Evans in the co-main event of UFC 167 on Nov. 16, 2013.
Win, lose or draw against "Suga," Sonnen already has his next bout lined up, settling his differences with Wanderlei Silva after the two serve as coaches on season three of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF): "Brazil 3."
After that, Sonnen wouldn't mind his turn at facing Belfort and attempt to take out the second scariest guy inside the Octagon after failing to do just that to the guy who holds the No. 1 spot.
