Robert Whittaker vs. Brian Melancon booked for UFC Fight Night 33 on Dec. 7 in Australia

Robert Whittaker and Brian Melancon look to get back into the win column when they do battle "Down Under" in December.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has added a welterweight match-up to UFC Fight Night 33 on FOX Sports 1, featuring Robert Whittaker vs. Brian Melancon at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Queensland, Australia, on December 7, 2013.

UFC announced the 170-pound battle on Wednesday.

The altercation between the two will be a match-up of guys coming off losses in their previous fights, as both went down to different Ultimate Fighter (TUF) show winners. It just so happens that a lucky Whittaker gets to fight in his homeland of Australia.

Can he use it to his advantage?

After winning the "Smashes" reality show, Whittaker delivered an impressive Octagon performance when he finished Colton Smith. But he was promptly beaten by another TUF winner when Court McGee handled him via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night 27.

McGee will go on to face Kelvin Gastelum at UFC on FOX 9.

Speaking of, Melancon is looking to make good after a submission loss to the aforementioned Gastelum. Prior to the defeat, he knocked out Seth Baczynski in his Octagon debut at UFC 162, a violent finish that was both quick and impressive.

Can he do it again?

UFC Fight Night 33: "Hunt vs. Bigfoot" will feature a titanic heavyweight tilt pitting former PRIDE and K-1 striker Mark Hunt against Brazilian behemoth Antonio Silva. Other matches include Mauricio Rua vs. James Te Huna and Pat Barry vs. Soa Palelei.
