John Dodson steps in for injured Ian McCall, faces Scott Jorgensen at UFC on FOX 9 in Sacramento

"The Magician" faces "Young Guns" in what is sure to be a fast-paced flyweight scrap in Sacramento, California, after "Uncle Creepy" was forced out of the UFC on FOX 9 fight due to a hand injury.

John Dodson's pleas for a quick return to the Octagon after crushing Darrell Montague in the very first round at UFC 166 on Oct. 19, 2013, didn't fall on deaf ears, as "The Magician" has been tapped to face Scott Jorgensen later this year at UFC on FOX 9.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) made the announcement earlier today (Oct. 29) after Ian McCall, Jorgensen's original opponent, was forced to withdraw from the fight due to a hand injury.

The flyweight fight -- which is scheduled to take place on Dec. 14 at the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California -- will mark the 125-pound debut for Jorgensen after going an even 3-3 in the bantamweight division dating back to his first Octagon appearance in 2011.

In his previous outing, "Young Guns" was choked out by Urijah Faber in the main event of The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale last April.

Dodson, meanwhile, got back on the winning track by knocking out the debuting Montague in "H-Town," earning him his first victory since coming up short against UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious Johnson at UFC on FOX 6 nine months earlier.

Expect fireworks.

UFC on FOX 9 will feature a lightweight title fight as division champion Anthony Pettis attempts to defend his belt for the first time against former Strikeforce 155-pound kingpin Josh Thomson.

In the co-main event of the stacked (and free) card, Carlos Condit looks to cool down a red-hot Matt Brown while the aforementioned Urijah Faber looks to make it four in a row as he takes on the heavy-handed Michael McDonald in main card action.

Dodson vs. Jorgensen ... who ya' got?
