The bout between Luke Barnatt and Andrew Craig at UFC Fight Night 30: "Machida vs. Munoz" at the Phones4u Arena in Manchester, England delivered. In fact, it was such a great bout that the two young fighters took home "Fight of the Night" honors compliments of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
The bout was part of the Facebook "Prelims" undercard.
Craig looked good early in the bout but was nearly finished after eating a short punch to the jaw in the first. Had Barnatt not celebrated prematurely, the fight likely would have ended by knockout. But Craig was able to recover and get his legs back and survived the round.
Craig came out relatively fresh in the second but Barnatt proved to be too much for the fighter out of Houston. Barnatt was able to drop Craig again and then locked in a super tight rear naked choke forcing the submission midway through the second.
This was Craig's second loss in the UFC and first time in his career that he's been finished. Barnatt is now 2-0 in his UFC career and undefeated overall.
