The main card of the UFC Fight Night 30: "Machida vs. Munoz" event on Fox Sports 2 today (Sat., Oct. 26, 2013) from the Phones 4u Arena in Manchester, England, kicked off with a flyweight bout pitting rising star John Lineker against Phil Harris.
Considering the lack of movement in the 125-pound division, this was an important bout.
Lineker came out firing with those heavy hands of his and he was connecting clean far too often. In fact, he rocked Harris no less than three times within the same number of minutes. It got bad enough that it appeared Harris may have been out on his feet.
Still, he stood with his opponent and continued trading punches.
That proved to be his downfall, as Lineker landed a big body shot that put Harris down for the count. The referee stepped in to stop it and we may have a new contender in the flyweight division.
Assuming, of course, he can actually make 125-pounds in the future.
