It's finally time to put or shut up.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White announce tonight (Oct. 21, 2013) on "FOX Sports Live" that mixed martial arts (MMA) rivals Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva will coach opposite one another on the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF): "Brazil 3."
"UFC stars Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva have made no secret of wanting to fight one another, and now it seems that will happen -- but only if they make it through a season of working together as coaches on The Ultimate Fighter: Brasil.... Sonnen, no stranger to picking fights against Brazilians, has waged a campaign to fight "The Axe Murderer," writing him a series of poems and using his victory interview at UFC Fight Night in Boston to call him out. The two also had to be separated when they came face-to-face at an expo last month."
Of course, the announcement refers to their staged encounter at 2013 Olympia Fitness & Performance Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada, last month. Silva, with a camera crew in tow, accosted Sonnen on the tradeshow floor, with the pair nearly coming to blows (watch it here).
Once their South American coaching duties are complete, Sonnen and Silva will be scheduled to settled their score for real inside the Octagon in early 2014. In the meantime, Sonnen will have to somehow find a way to focus on Rashad Evans, who he competes against in the co-main event of UFC 167, which takes place next month (Nov. 16, 2013) at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
TUF: "Brazil 3" will feature some blend of Middleweight, Light Heavyweight and/or Heavyweight MMA hopefuls, with filming expected to begin in the New Year. And it will all take place under very heavy security:
