So, um, Junior dos Santos can take a punch ... many of them. And so, too, can Gilbert Melendez and Diego Sanchez, who combined to deliver the "Fight of the Year" this past weekend (Sat., Oct. 26, 2013) at UFC 166, which took place from Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
Darrell Montague and Shawn Jordan? Not so much, thanks to John Dodson and Gabriel Gonzaga, who scored quick first round finishes on the pay-per-view (PPV) main card (watch highlights here and here).
Now you can watch the "greatest fight card ever" unfold in super-slow motion thanks to the UFC 166 "Phantom Cam." In fact, the footage is so solid that it even makes the Heavyweight showdown between Daniel Cormier vs. Roy Nelson appear that it was par with the rest of the incredible mixed martial arts (MMA) action even though it wasn't even close (watch full fight video highlights here).
It's quite remarkable to see "Cigano" endure such abuse and no wonder he couldn't remember anything beyond round two (watch full fight video highlights here). It also makes you wonder why referee referee Herb Dean and/or the Brazilian's corner didn't stop it sooner.
And Gilbert Melendez vs. Diego Sanchez? Fuggedaboutit ... it's twice as nice to see it insane-frame-by-insane-frame (watch full fight video highlights here).
Enjoy!
