UFC 166 videos: Watch Houston Rockets cagers Dwight Howard, James Harden and Patrick Beverley rave about 'amazing' Velasquez vs. Dos Santos 3 PPV fights

The Houston Rockets returned to the Toyota Center last weekend, but not to shoot hoops. The NBA team sent its top stars to watch UFC 166, which turned out to be an "amazing" night of fights.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White called the UFC 166: "Velasquez vs. Dos Santos 3" pay-per-view (PPV) event, which took place at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, on Oct. 19, 2013, the greatest night of fights in the history of the promotion.

Maybe, maybe not.

One thing we can say for certain, is that it was by far the greatest night of fights the Houston Rockets have ever seen, thanks to the presence of local cagers Dwight Howard, James Harden, Patrick Beverley, Jeremy Lin and Chandler Parsons, among others.

Rookie point guard Isaiah Canaan was "amazed" by the experience (via CSN Houston):

"I'm just amazed at how they can take a beating to their bodies like that. It takes a special type of human to sit in that ring for that long period of time and take a beating. It was fun. It was my first time seeing that up close and personal. I always watch it on TV. So, for me to actually see it live was amazing."

NBA stars are no strangers to mixed martial arts (MMA).

Miami Heat forward LeBron James is buddy-buddy with former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva, which earned him a free pass into a public war of televised words with ex-"Spider" fighter Chael Sonnen.

Outside of that (cough) "feud," most of the b-ballers in attendance are there to catch some epic fights and it sounds like the promotion did not disappoint during last weekend's MMA extravaganza in "Space City."
