I love awesome promo videos. When they're done right, it makes purchasing the pay-per-view (PPV) event a lot easier.
Last night (Oct. 19, 2013) during UFC 166 at Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debuted the latest promo video for UFC 167. The video is a nice departure from the typical "OOOOOOH!" reaction's that have become the norm from the UFC.
Instead, it's produced like a UFC Primetime teaser. Georges St-Pierre and Johny Hendricks hit a heavy bag in a dimly lit gym while the Roots provide the sound track. Maybe I'm just a huge Roots crew fan, but this is just one of those awesome promo videos.
Just a month away, UFC 167 features a main event between St-Pierre and Hendricks for the UFC Welterweight title at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV on Nov. 16, 2013. It's an anticipated bout and with this promo now airing on the regular, I think the hype factor is building.
