This evening (Oct. 19, 2013), Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to Toyota Center in Houston, Texas, with UFC 166 LIVE on pay-per-view (PPV).
The mixed martial arts (MMA) night is headlined by a Heavyweight title fight between division champion Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos. With a win, Velasquez could cement himself as the top heavyweight fighter in the history of the promotion, according to UFC President Dana White.
Meantime, check out our live Twitter.com reactions from around the social scene, which will be updated throughout the evening with the best the Internets has to offer.
Here we go!:
John Dodson vs. Darrell Montague
"Third-fastest knockout in flyweight history" ... so, there have been three flyweight KOs?
— Dave Doyle (@davedoylemma) October 20, 2013
Why don't guys ever go "I want to thank my opponent for leaving his chin up in the air"?
— CagePotato.com (@cagepotatomma) October 20, 2013
Montague's body took a good second to find out the brain had been switched off. That was excellent.
— Richard Wade (@RichardWade) October 20, 2013
Dodson is SO talented and Montague is TOUGH as nails!!!
— Dana White (@danawhite) October 20, 2013
Little stick of dynamite John Dodson does it again. Montague couldn't get out of the way of that murderous left.
— Ben Fowlkes (@benfowlkesMMA) October 20, 2013
montague said "the fuck was my burpee count at?" son hit the ground yall.

Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Shawn Jordan
Nice short punch by manbearpig.
— Richard Wade (@RichardWade) October 20, 2013
😪You still my dawg.😢 Always homie. @savageshawn #UFC166
— Yves Edwards (@thugjitsumaster) October 20, 2013
Wow! Well that was the KO I said. Didn't think it would go to Gabe! I'm done w prediction! 3rd jinx of the night! TW #UFC166 great counter
— UFC (@ufc) October 20, 2013
Gabriel Gonzaga is the ultimate equalizer. If you are meant to be upper-tier you beat him. If not...this happens.
— Duane Finley (@DuaneFinleyMMA) October 20, 2013
Only way someone tops Gonzaga walking out to "Mother" is by walking out to "Skulls" by the Misfits. #UFC166Facts

Gilbert Melendez vs. Diego Sanchez
Dana White runs over to media row and he's freaking out about this fight. Never ever seen him do that before #UFC166 #UFC
— Damon Martin (@DamonMartin) October 20, 2013
Seriously. Tell me if there was a better round than that this year because if you don't say I'm not gonna remember any others after that V.
— Jordan Breen (@jordanbreen) October 20, 2013
Gilbert Melendez and Diego Sanchez just put on the Fight of the Year. Incredible. If you missed it, I feel bad for you. #UFC166
— CagePotato.com (@cagepotatomma) October 20, 2013
Dana White just told us that Diego Sanchez pleaded to him, "Give us two more rounds! Give us two more rounds!"
— Shaun Al-Shatti (@shaunalshatti) October 20, 2013
Showmanship when you're down two rounds never looks good.
— Jeremy Botter (@jeremybotter) October 20, 2013
Daniel Cormier is good but Jon Jones would abuse him.
— Michael David Smith (@MichaelDavSmith) October 20, 2013
I'm just waiting for Cormier to tag and release Big Country. This is not competitive at all.
— Greg Savage (@TheSavageTruth) October 20, 2013
This is NOT the time for Cormier to start trying spinning shit. Just finish this thing out DC!
— Jonathan Snowden (@mmaencyclopedia) October 20, 2013
That fight was about 7-times worse than Melendez-Sanchez. Which makes it about an 7 overall.
— RJ Clifford (@RJcliffordMMA) October 20, 2013
Cain Velasquez vs. Junior Dos Santos
Thankfully, Herb Dean has seen enough. But not before JDS took a hellacious beating at the hands of the champ.
— Ben Fowlkes (@benfowlkesMMA) October 20, 2013
What a weird note in MMA history. Cain doesn't stop JDS, Cigano stops himself.
— Duane Finley (@DuaneFinleyMMA) October 20, 2013
Herb Dean stops the fight with less than 2 minutes remaining in the 5th, Velasquez via TKO. Fight stopped out of exhaustion mainly. #UFC166
— Mike Chiappetta MMA (@MikeChiappetta) October 20, 2013
This was the night of brain damage.
— Tim Kennedy (@TimKennedyMMA) October 20, 2013
Herb Dean mercifully steps in. Fifth round TKO, Cain. Brutal. Just brutal.
— Shaun Al-Shatti (@shaunalshatti) October 20, 2013
